Marc Padberg

 

Marc is a renowned lawyer with expertise in issues relating to international trade, transport, insurance and professional liability. Marc has published numerous articles including some for English legal periodicals such as Lloyd's Maritime Law Quarterly and the Maritime Advocate. 

Marc has been nominated one of the top five transport lawyers in the Netherlands by Quote Media in five subsequent years. Favourable listings in both Legal 500 and Chambers were due to him. Marc lectures transport law at the Grotius Academy, is a member of the Dutch Association for Sea and Transport law (NVZV), the Dutch Association for Insurance law and the International Bar Association. Last but not least, Marc is a member and past chairman of the Dutch Association for Transport Attorneys. 

Marc is a frequent speaker at seminars and speaks Dutch, English and German. 

Marc started his career in 1986 when he joined the law firm Schut&Grosheide (currently DLA Piper). After having worked in Amsterdam for nearly 15 years, Marc moved to Rotterdam in 2000 to open the new Schut&Grosheide office and lead the International Trade, Transport and Insurance practice group. 

Marc was a co-founder of Padberg Spanjaart Advocaten in 2007, which merged with Kneppelhout & Korthals in 2010. Marc has been the Managing Partner since October 2010. Marc has stepped down as the Firms Managing Partner as of 1 October 2013, to actually devote himself again as a partner to the law practice.
